Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP represented Duke Energy in the sale of a minority interest in a portion of its commercial renewable energy portfolio to the John Hancock Infrastructure Fund and John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.). The transaction was completed on September 6, 2019. The total enterprise value of this portion of Duke Energy’s commercial renewable energy portfolio is approximately $1.25 billion (including proportional existing project-level debt).

The transaction was led by partner Eric Pogue, who co-chairs the firm’s renewable energy practice, partner Steven Haas, who co-heads the firm’s global M&A practice, and tax partner Laura Jones, and included associates Charles Brewer, Meghan Garrant and Henry Jin.
