Richmond, Va. — June 26, 2009 — Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce Andrew G. Geyer and Glen H. Sturtevant, Jr. each received a Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference Service Award at the 71st Annual Meeting of the Virginia State Bar, held at Virginia Beach on June 19.

Geyer was recognized for his service as chair of the Virginia chapter of Wills for Heroes, a pro bono partnership program of the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Bar Association that provides career firefighters, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, and other emergency personnel with free wills and other end-of-life documents.

Sturtevant was awarded for his service as chair of the VSB Young Lawyer Conference’s Emergency Legal Service Committee, which partnered with the VBA Young Lawyers Division to provide emergency statewide pro bono legal assistance when and where disaster strikes in Virginia.

Also during the annual meeting, Christy E. Kiely was elected Secretary of the Young Lawyers Conference Board of Governors. Kiely has been recognized for her many projects and dedication with the community and bar associations. She was the 2006 recipient of the Virginia State Bar’s R. Edwin Burnette Jr. Young Lawyer of the Year Award. In 2007, Kiely was selected as the 2007 recipient of the Sandra Day O’Connor Award for Professional Service by the American Inns of Court.
