June 24, 2020 - Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partner Caryl Greenberg Smith was named to the Daily Report’s list of 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award winners.

The Lifetime Achiever is included as part of the Daily Report’s annual Georgia Legal Awards and honors individuals who have left a lasting imprint on the legal community of Georgia.

Smith’s groundbreaking work in public finance law has facilitated major civic projects and residential housing development throughout Georgia for decades. Her more than 37 years of experience in the public finance sector, have made her one of the state’s foremost authorities on tax-exempt financings and affordable housing. The Phillips Arena (now known as State Farm Arena and home to the Atlanta Hawks NBA team), economic development from the rental car tax and the tax allocation (TAD) district bond issues, and multi-family affordable housing are all results of her pioneering efforts in the legal field. She also gives back to her community by serving as board chair of the Fernbank Museum of Natural History and 2021 Co-Chair of the High Museum of Art Wine Auction.

Smith will be recognized in a special section of the Daily Report and at a virtual awards event.
