Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP partners Kathleen Tarbox Muñoz and Amber M. Rogers were recently named to the inaugural list of 2021 Trailblazers South by The American Lawyer, which spotlights 49 attorneys in Texas and other southern and eastern states who are considered “agents of change” and “have moved the needle in the legal industry.” Honorees in the inaugural list of appeared in the October/November 2021 issue with a photo and profile.

Muñoz has broad experience with secured and unsecured lending and regularly represents financial institutions, lenders and special servicers on matters involving origination and securitization as well as workouts, assumptions and the exercise of remedies. She has also routinely represented clients in various areas of real estate related matters including acquisitions, development, dispositions and leasing, including the negotiation of related agreements and property related due diligence involving title, survey, zoning and land use matters. Additionally, Muñoz has been named to D Magazine’s 2021 Best Lawyers in Dallas list and one of the 2018 Dallas Top 50 Women in Law by The National Diversity Council.

As the hiring partner of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Dallas office and the first African-American woman elected to the firm’s Executive Committee, Rogers assists clients with traditional labor relations and litigation, conducting sensitive workplace investigations, employment advice and counseling and complex employment litigation. Her litigation experience also includes regularly representing clients in wage and hour collective and class actions, trade secrets and post-employment restrictive covenant disputes and complex employment discrimination. Recently, she received a unanimous decision from the Fifth Circuit overturning two National Labor Relations Board’s decisions for a Texas-based nuclear plant, the largest in the state, and represented Texas’ largest transmission and distribution electric utility during its union representation election. Rogers is also an active leader of diversity in the firm and legal community in her roles as co-founder of The NEW Roundtable, co-chair of the Dallas office diversity committee and co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Oneness Luncheon.
