Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that Houston office managing partner Tammy Brennig has been named among the Texas Diversity Council’s 2021 Top Women Lawyers Award Winners. The annual award recognizes leaders in corporate America who “exemplif[y] a noteworthy commitment to fairness, equity, and justice in client representations and professional collaborations… and maintain a superior level of integrity and dignity across the full spectrum of legal dealings and responsibilities.”

As a corporate finance partner, an ex officio member of the firm's Executive Committee and managing partner of the firm’s Houston office, Brennig has focused on improving diversity through mentoring and supporting younger lawyers. For many years she served as the firm-wide hiring partner, promoting inclusion in her recruitment of new associates and personnel. Brennig also previously served on the firm’s Diversity Committee, Women’s Initiative Team and Associates Committee, spearheading the creation of flexible work path programs and leadership programs for women and overseeing mentorship programs for attorneys with diverse backgrounds. Her leadership has led the Houston office to be honored for Outstanding Diverse Organization by the Houston Business Journal’s 2021 Diversity in Business Awards and to be named among the 2019 Top Five Law Firms for Diversity by the National Diversity Council.

Brennig was recognized at the virtual Texas Legal Diversity Summit, themed “Raising the Bar: Legal Diversity in Action,” on September 28, 2021.
