Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce its recent selection as a 2022 Beacon of Justice Award winner from the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) for pro bono work sustaining racial equality and hope in 2021. The firm will be honored at the Exemplar Awards gala which brings together leadership from the corporate, private, civil legal aid, and public defense communities.

Hunton Andrews Kurth was commended by the organization for its “leadership and pro bono initiatives,” including the creation of a Racial Equity and Social Justice Resource Center, the firm’s role as a signatory member of the Law Firm Anti-Racism Alliance and pro bono hours dedicated to eradicating racial inequity.

NLADA is America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel. They provide advocacy, guidance, information, training and technical assistance for members of the equal justice community, especially those working in public defense and civil legal aid.

The firm’s Pro Bono and Diversity & Inclusion Committees are co-sponsoring the Exemplar Awards Gala on June 9, 2022 at DC’s historic Union Market Dock 5, where the firm will be recognized.
