Kane’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, licensing, and counseling, particularly with respect to trademarks and copyrights. He regularly advises clients on trademark, patent, copyright, trade dress, and trade secret litigation before federal and state courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Kane works closely with clients to draft, structure and negotiate IP and technology contracts. He handles complex contracts such as joint development agreements, patent and technology license agreements, software and data licensing, SaaS agreements, trademark license agreements, open source software compliance, and IP and technology transfer agreements – often within the context of M&A transactions. Additionally, he has obtained major victories for major organizations such as The United States Olympic Committee, Constellation Brands, the Home Shopping Network, Maker’s Mark, CVS, Beam Suntory (Jim Beam Brands) and many more. Recently, Kane was recognized as a Super Lawyers Washington, DC Rising Star in Intellectual Property.
