Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP partner Lisa Sotto was named among SC Media’s 2019 Women in Security PowerPlayers. The award honors seven women who are powerhouses in the cybersecurity field and have made notable contributions to the community over the past year. These women have improved security, helped to shape the industry, provided thought leadership or made a positive impact on the advancement of cybersecurity in government or the private sector.

Sotto chairs the firm’s top-ranked global privacy and cybersecurity practice and is the managing partner of the firm’s New York Office. She built the firm’s privacy and cybersecurity practice 20 years ago and has received widespread recognition for her work in this area. According to SC Media, “Sotto’s influence has been felt on boards around the country and across industry sectors that she advised on information governance issues surrounding privacy and safeguarding data. She [has] worked side by side with organizations to develop and enhance formal privacy programs compliant with an array of legal and regulatory requirements worldwide, encompassing technologies such as facial recognition, wearables, retail tracking and geolocation as they emerge.”
