Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has been named an honoree of the inaugural Pro Bono Innovator Award by Bloomberg Law. This new award seeks to “recognize a selection of law firms, companies and non-profit organizations that are successfully innovating in their approaches to pro bono client service.” The honorees displayed industry-leading work in difficult matters with broad societal impact, involving innovative teamwork from a diverse team of lawyers.

The firm is proud of its community service and leadership among law firms in the United States, where its tradition of pro bono service is well recognized. Over the last 13 years the firm has had a 100% participation rate of lawyers in pro bono matters, and for 29 consecutive years has met or exceeded the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge of donating at least 3% of the firm’s annual billable hours to pro bono service. Among other highlights, Bloomberg Law celebrated the firm’s work to restore post 9/11 educational benefits to millions of veterans, leadership in the Richmond Eviction Diversion Program, and re-establishment of the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program’s monthly legal intake clinics through a virtual platform.
