Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP received the 2023 Gold Award for Pro Bono Service from the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP), a joint program of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas.

DVAP awarded Hunton Andrews Kurth with the gold award for dedicating 3,870 hours to pro bono clients and more than 1,000 hours to DVAP programs this year. After being named Law Firm of the Year in 2022, this award marks the 3rd year the firm has received the gold award and the 7th time the firm has been recognized with an award since 2016.

“This recognition is the direct result of high-quality work for our pro bono clients, sustained support by members of our team, and dedicated leadership from our attorneys, paralegals, and staff.,” said Fawaz Bham, partner and chair of the firm’s pro bono committee in the Dallas office. “We are honored to receive this award and will continue supporting the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program by volunteering and contributing to their amazing programs.”

Bham, on behalf of Hunton Andrews Kurth, led the creation of the virtual clinic platform for DVAP in 2020 and the firm continues to support its operation and functionality to date. Hunton Andrews Kurth is proud of its community service and leadership among law firms in the United States, where the firm’s tradition of pro bono service is well recognized. At the end of the firm’s fiscal year on March 31, 2023, the firm had donated more than 52,000 pro bono hours to underserved communities. This represented 4.32% percent of the firm’s gross billable hours and commemorates 30 continuous years of meeting or exceeding the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge of donating at least three percent of the firm’s annual billable hours to pro bono service.
