Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP was recognized by the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center for its contribution to a record of 1,049,139 hours of pro bono service accumulated by over 64 D.C.-based law firms in 2020. The achievement reflects the firm’s commitment to mend social and economic inequalities within the community that were accentuated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center’s Pro Bono Initiative Report, 9,328 attorneys engaged pro bono work in 2020, with each attorney contributing an average of 91 pro bono hours. Approximately 81 percent of attorneys with participating firms engaged in pro bono service. The record number of hours significantly increased from 2019 by 69,859 hours, and over 52 percent of pro bono time recorded was dedicated to assisting residents of the D.C. area with limited means or the organizations that serve them.
