Elbert Lin was featured in The Richmond Times-Dispatch Decision Maker Series regarding his career and path to Hunton & Williams. Elbert, formerly the Solicitor General of West Virginia and a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, joined Hunton & Williams in September. Elbert’s most challenging case was winning a stay from the U.S. Supreme Court of President Obama’s signature climate rule, the Clean Power Plan. At Hunton, Elbert plans to use his extensive appellate experience to develop an “issues and appeals” practice, which “involves assisting clients not only with traditional appellate litigation but also with creating a record for appeal while at trial or before an administrative agency, as well as with long-term legal strategy on critical issues.”
