Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partner Shannon Broome has been recognized as one of the 2020 Top Women Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal. This coveted, West Coast-ranking highlights just 100 female lawyers practicing and barred in California, who have made a difference to their clients, their firms and their profession during this unprecedented year.

Broome is the managing partner of the San Francisco office and also leads the California environmental practice. She is frequently sought by Fortune 50 oil, gas, and manufacturing companies for her litigation and negotiation skills and has nearly 30 years of experience challenging and defending EPA and California regulations, defending enforcement actions before federal, state, and appellate courts and agencies, and obtaining complex permits from federal and state agencies. Broome was recognized this year in particular for her leadership in managing the response to an oil and gas facility fire, leading the defense of a major oil and gas company to climate change nuisance lawsuits being brought across the country and winning for her chemical producer client a lawsuit defending the permit issued for its most significant plant expansion in 20 years.

This is the fourth year Broome has been selected among the Daily Journal’s Top Women Lawyers. In addition, she has recently been recognized as a leader in Climate Change by Chambers Global, an MVP in Environment by Law360 and a Trailblazer in Environmental Law by the National Law Journal.
