Joseph A. Patella

Business litigation partner Joseph A. Patella was named by Super Lawyers in the Top 100 New York Lawyers for 2014. Joe’s practice focuses on commercial litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts and in arbitration proceedings throughout the country. He has successfully represented clients in a broad range of commercial disputes, including contract, fraud and fiduciary duty claims, deceptive trade practices and unfair competition, shareholder derivative suits, employment issues, class actions, accountant’s liability, bankruptcy matters and insurance coverage disputes. Joe also provides advice and counsel to auction houses, museums and art collectors in fine art and cultural property matters and disputes. Joe's practice also includes advising corporate clients on ways to manage and control litigation volume and expense. 

Paul N. Silverstein

Bankruptcy and financial restructuring partner Paul N. Silverstein was named by Super Lawyers in the Top 100 New York Lawyers for 2014. Paul is a member of the firm's Executive Committee, a member of the Policy Committee and co-chair of the Bankruptcy/Restructuring practice. Paul's practice includes the representation of official and ad hoc creditors and stockholders committees, significant strategic and financial investors and debtors/issuers in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations and out-of-court restructurings. He is experienced in the representation of purchasers and sellers of assets, claims and equity interests in distressed and special situations in connection with both strategic and financial investments.

Lynne M. Fischman Uniman

For the fifth consecutive year, business litigation partner Lynne M. Fischman Uniman was named by Super Lawyers in the Top 50 Women New York Lawyers and the Top 100 New York Lawyers for 2014. Lynne is the founding member of the litigation department of the New York Office. She has more than 30 years of experience in trial work, appellate advocacy and alternative dispute resolution procedures. Her practice is broad-based and includes disputes involving breach of contract, employment, class actions, contested corporate acquisitions and divestitures, fraud, trademark, securities, professional malpractice, sports and entertainment, trusts and estates, tax, bankruptcy, real estate and banking. Lynne also has a long history advising several Fortune 500 companies on ways to manage and control litigation volume and expense. 

Lynne has been the Managing Partner of the New York office since 2000 and was Recruiting Partner from 1990-2008. Lynne was a founding member of the Women’s Initiative Committee. She sits on the Partner Compensation Committee, Diversity, Client Screening and Conflicts Committees. Lynne was one of Profiles in Diversity’s “Women Worth Watching in 2009” and has been listed in New York Super Lawyers every year since 2007.
