Speaking to Real Estate Finance and Investment regarding the difficulties lenders are having in finding relevant opportunities as a result of the amount of capital outpacing the number of deals available, Peter J. Mignone says, “For most lenders, there’s a natural pressure in a very competitive industry to erode structure and accept deals other lenders wouldn’t accept.” Peter adds, “While we all have heard stories of aggressive underwriting, it’s heartening that we’re not seeing the industry as a whole repeating the experiences we had in ‘06 and ’07.”
