Mortgage Servicing Rights for Dummies (and Smarties)

Our panel will provide a general overview of mortgage servicing rights (“MSRs”), explaining what they are. The panel will analyze common financing structures and key parties and roles in MSR transactions. Then, the presentation will explain the legal documents necessary for these transactions, with a particular focus on acknowledgment agreements.   Bankruptcy considerations and other legal issues will be discussed in the context of market considerations surrounding MSRs.
