Tom Hiner, a partner in, and co-head of, the firm’s structured finance and securitization practice was a panelist at IMN’s 2nd Annual Residential Mortgage Servicing Rights Conference in New York, which was attended by over 400 industry participants. His panel, “Excess Servicing Rights & Servicing Advances: Buying, Selling & Securitizing,” discussed a number of topics such as primary servicer counterparty risk, establishing base fees, sharing excess spread, recapture provisions, deferred servicing fees, structuring servicer advance facilities, performance projections for servicer advance facilities and administering delinquent servicing advances. Hiner has extensive experience advising servicers, investment banks and lenders regarding buying, selling and financing mortgage servicing rights and is a recognized leader in that field by publications such as Chambers USA and The Legal 500.
