National Veterans Legal Services Program Recognizes Kevin Gaunt with 2019 Lawyers Serving Warriors® Excellence Award

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that the National Veterans Legal Services Program has awarded Kevin Gaunt, an associate in the Washington, DC office, its 2019 Lawyers Serving Warriors® Excellence Award. This national award is given annually to a volunteer attorney who has provided exemplary pro bono services to veterans and service members.

“We are thrilled to be able to express our appreciation for Kevin’s extensive and long-standing commitment to assisting numerous NVLSP clients,” said Rochelle Bobroff, director of the pro bono program at Lawyers Serving Warriors®. “Kevin has been a star in Lawyers Serving Warrior pro bono endeavors. While the award goes to one individual, we also recognize the fabulous work of all others on your team. The dedication of Hunton Andrews Kurth volunteers is truly outstanding.”

Gaunt, an associate in the White Collar and Internal Investigations practice of Hunton Andrews Kurth has dedicated hundreds of hours to the Warriors program. A graduate of Davidson College and the University of Miami School of Law, Gaunt served for almost six years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army prior to beginning his legal career.

Gaunt will receive the award on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the NVLSP’s annual benefit reception at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.

Hunton Andrews Kurth is proud of the firm’s tradition of pro bono service. At the end of the firm’s fiscal year on March 31, 2019, the firm achieved 100% participation in pro bono projects by full-time U.S. lawyers for the tenth consecutive year. Hunton Andrews Kurth donates more than 40,000 pro bono hours annually to underserved communities. The firm has met or exceeded the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge of donating at least 3 percent of the firm’s billable hours to pro bono service for the last 25 years. The firm employs two pro bono fellows, one in Richmond, Virginia and one in New York, and a full-time pro bono associate in Charlottesville, Virginia. The firm’s Church Hill office in Richmond, Virginia, an office dedicated solely to pro bono matters, celebrated 29 years on March 31, 2019.
