Pathfinders Scholarship Program

The HuntonAK Pathfinders Scholarship program has been established to attract outstanding first-generation law students  to the private practice of law while helping these students be successful in law school through both work and mentorship experiences afforded by the program. Our HuntonAK Pathfinders  program is a 10 week paid Summer Clerkship for 2L students and a stipend during the school year, as outlined below. Hunton Andrews Kurth is committed to recruiting, retaining and advancing diverse lawyers and our HuntonAK Pathfinders Scholarship program is one of the many programs we have implemented to contribute toward enhancing the diversity of our firm and profession. Students interested in applying to this program are required to submit a First Generation statement, which explains their first generation law student experience and what motivated them to consider law as a profession, along with their application materials. 

Eligibility

Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for this opportunity:

• Currently enrolled as a second-year law student in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school; and
• Top 33% of Law School Class
• First Generation Law Student (defined as a first person in your immediate family to receive postsecondary education)
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

2L Potential Scholarship $25,000

• $8,333 After acceptance of 2L Offer
• $8,333 After acceptance for Entry Level Offer
• $8,334 Upon joining the firm full time
