Qualified applicants will have up to six years of experience with environmental, natural resource, climate change or sustainability issues in the context of compliance counseling, corporate audits and management programs, obtaining permits and other regulatory authorizations, enforcement defense or litigation. The ideal candidate has experience or interest in climate change mitigation, environmental justice, corporate transitions in energy generation, electrification of the transportation sector, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), and product management in the context of chemicals, waste, circular economy and sustainability.

The successful applicant will get to work on precedent setting legal matters with a team that values direct client contact, mentoring and training. As a member of the environmental team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on interesting, long-term projects with established clients.
A successful candidate is dedicated to the practice of environmental law, has self-motivation, strong intellectual curiosity, good judgment, responsiveness, perseverance, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Active membership in the DC bar is preferred. Applicants with relevant government experience are encouraged to apply.
