Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP congratulates Richmond-based partner, Kimberly C. MacLeod, on her receipt of a 2022 Outstanding Women Award from the YWCA Richmond in the Law & Government category. Recipients “encourage, promote and create lasting changes in our region that impact the lives of many more women, empowering them to find their own paths to lead.”

Honorees joined an esteemed group of more than 300 female leaders who have made significant contributions to the community through their exceptional leadership, sustained dedication, and inspiring achievements.

MacLeod regularly represents national and international clients on cutting-edge corporate finance transactions and has chaired the firm’s pro bono committee for the last five years. In that role, she oversees Hunton Andrews Kurth’s US pro bono engagements and four pro bono fellows and sets policy for the firm’s US offices. Under her leadership as vice chair and chair of the committee, the firm has had 100% participation by full-time firm lawyers in the US for 13 consecutive years. MacLeod has personally handled dozens of pro bono guardianships and several domestic violence cases through the firm’s Church Hill pro bono office. She also screens cases on behalf of the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project and is currently working on an asylum matter for an Afghan immigrant.

Before leading the firm’s pro bono efforts, MacLeod was the Richmond office’s hiring partner and then one of the firm’s two hiring partners. In this role, she magnified the firm’s focus on diversity and equity, and her impact extended to the summer associate program and summer diversity clerkships, planting the seeds for a more diverse workforce and leadership in future generations.

Kim MacLeod and the other eight Outstanding Women Award winners were recognized at the 2022 OWA celebration on Tuesday, May 10.
