October 14, 2020 — Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that Lonnie D. (“Chip”) Nunley, III has been named to the Class of 2020 for the “Virginia Lawyers Hall of Fame,” sponsored by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.

The Virginia Lawyers Hall of Fame honors Virginia lawyers for career accomplishments, contributions to the development of the law in Virginia, contributions to the bar and to the Commonwealth at large, and improvements to the quality of justice in Virginia.

Nunley, a partner who has practiced with Hunton Andrews Kurth for 35 years, regularly represents clients before State and Federal Courts in complex civil litigation, and before the Virginia State Corporation Commission in regulatory matters. Nunley also regularly represents clients in pro bono matters and has been active in efforts to improve access to justice for Virginians. Nunley is a member of the Virginia Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission. Nunley has served on the board of the Legal Aid Justice Center and as chair of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society board. Nunley is a member of the Virginia Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission, and has served as a former chair of the Virginia State Bar’s Access to Justice Committee and as a member of the State Bar’s Professionalism Committee and Carrico Professionalism Faculty, and is a current member of Bar Council for the Virginia State Bar. 

The honorees will be celebrated at a program on November 18, and profiled in the Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
