Todd Haymore, former Secretary of Commerce and Trade for Gov. Terry McAuliffe, speaks to multiple news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal and the Richmond Times-Dispatch, on Amazon’s decision to pick both New York City and Northern Virginia in its contest for a second headquarters. Todd was pivotal in outlining the incentive package that led Amazon to pick Northern Virginia. He explains the economic impact the decision will have on Northern Virginia and the entire state, with the deal resulting in 25,000 new jobs and $2.5 billion in investments, as well as new investments in higher education and transportation. In a column for the RTD, Todd says: “Indeed, Amazon’s HQ2 is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime economic development project for Virginia, a transformative venture that the state has been seeking for years.”
