Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce ALM Media and Texas Lawyer’s 2022 Texas Legal Awards selected Alan Marcuis and Fawaz Bham as finalists in the Best Mentors and On the Rise categories, respectively. The Texas Legal Awards honors Texas lawyers recognized as influential innovators who demonstrate strong leadership qualities and legal prowess.

Marcuis’s inclusion as one of the Best Mentors is no surprise to the young associates at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP. He serves as one of three firmwide hiring partners and is a leader in the firm community for fostering individual growth and supporting the firm’s newest attorneys. The firm relies on Marcuis to be one of the first points of contacts for all new hires, sharing firm values and making new associates nationwide feel accepted and motivated; it is in this role where Marcuis thrives. Marcuis, a partner in the firm’s labor and employment practice, represents employers through complex labor and employment law matters, including contract, trade secret and post-employment restrictive covenants, EEO litigation, collective bargaining and labor relations.

It was a combination of notable professional achievements, pioneering pro bono programs, and serving on multiple boards and organizations that secured Bham’s selection as a finalist for On the Rise. In the past two years alone, Bham has advised on and facilitated real estate transactions in Texas and around the country valued at more than $1.4 billion by representing clients on asset management, development, leasing and financing matters. In addition, his vibrant pro bono and community advocacy practice and innovations and his devotion to diversity and inclusion efforts have propelled him to leadership roles in and outside the firm, including serving as the chairman of the Pro Bono Committee for the Dallas office.

Marcuis and Bham will be honored at the Texas Legal Awards event in September for their accomplishments. View the complete list of honorees.
