Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP partner Shannon Broome was named to the San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business 2022 list. The award recognizes women who have displayed their leadership through professional achievements, community leadership, milestones and awards.

Broome is the managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office, leads the California environmental practice and co-leads the firm’s environmental, social and governance and climate change practices. She is frequently sought by Fortune 50 energy and manufacturing companies for her litigation and negotiation skills and has nearly 30 years of experience challenging and defending EPA and California regulations, defending enforcement actions before federal, state, and appellate courts and agencies, and obtaining complex permits from federal and state agencies.

Outside of her robust environmental practice, Broome devotes herself to improving diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. She serves as the San Francisco office’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Leader and makes it a priority to mentor young female lawyers and serve as a counselor to the firm’s new associates. She is the current and founding co-president of the California chapter of the Women’s Energy Network. She also serves as an alumni guide and Interview Program mentor for UC Berkeley School of Law, helping women and students of color navigate law school and prepare for the law firm interview process to maximize their career options. Broome frequently shares her knowledge with her peers by speaking on issues related to how women can succeed in the workplace, particularly in the legal profession.

All honorees, including Broome, were featured in the October 7 special issue of San Francisco Business Times introducing the Most Influential Women of 2022.
