Republicans are believed to have a shot at making relevant changes to the Dodd-Frank Act now that they control Congress, but President Obama will likely frown upon alterations. According to Scott Kimpel, the president “can’t veto every single bill that gets sent up…He’s got to choose his battles.” Kimpel’s practice encompasses a range of matters involving securities laws, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, and corporate governance. He previously served as counsel to a former SEC commissioner.
