Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has appointed Laura Colombell Marshall to lead its white collar defense and internal investigations practice.

“Laura has built superb relationships with both clients and colleagues and has achieved excellent results resolving complicated matters,” Managing Partner Wally Martinez said. “Her experience will be a valuable asset in her leadership role.”

The Hunton Andrews Kurth white collar defense and internal investigations practice handles corporate criminal defense and government enforcement litigation worldwide. The team represents clients in criminal investigations and prosecutions, parallel civil proceedings and related third-party litigation. Lawyers also collaborate with in-house counsel in developing effective compliance programs for protecting companies against significant exposure from costly litigation.

“White collar matters pose significant risks for businesses and individuals, and each case requires a tailored strategy to achieve an optimal outcome,” said Marshall, who is based in Washington and Richmond. “I’m excited to lead the team with this approach, and to continue expanding the important work we are doing for our clients.”

Before joining Hunton Andrews Kurth, Marshall spent 15 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, where she led highly successful task force initiatives targeting fraud offenses. She also served as a JAG officer in the United States Army Reserve. Global Investigations Review, an annual guide to the world's leading firms for corporate investigations, named Marshall one of the top 100 Women in Investigations.
