Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that Los Angeles Partner Julia Y. Trankiem has been featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Thriving in their 40s” awards. The award recognizes the most outstanding professionals in Los Angeles in their 40s.
Defending management in a broad range of employment matters, Trankiem collaborates and partners with companies to solve complex employment issues. She has represented employers across wide-ranging industries in class, collective, representative and hybrid actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. Trankiem’s wage and hour experience includes litigation involving claims of misclassification, off-the-clock work and unpaid overtime, and meal and rest period violations. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School (2003) and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (2000).
Trankiem was also named among the “Minority Leaders of Influence: Attorneys” awards by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2019 and 2021, and listed as a California Labor and Employment Star by Benchmark Litigation in 2020.
