WASHINGTON — December 29, 2014 — Hunton & Williams LLP partners F. William Brownell and Richard L. Wyatt Jr. have been named to Law360’s 2014 MVPs, an annual series which profiles lawyers who are successful in high-stakes litigation or record-breaking transactions and contributed most to their practice area in the past year.

Environmental partner Bill Brownell is also chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. Law360 cited his successful defense of Clean Air Act enforcement and his efforts to “convinc[e] the Supreme Court to limit the government's authority to regulate carbon dioxide emissions” among its reasons for naming Brownell one of only five lawyers as Environmental MVPs. The Washington-based Brownell focuses his practice on environmental litigation, regulation and counseling, including climate change regulation and litigation, clean air regulation, environmental licensing and auditing, and waste management and clean water issues. Litigation partner Richard Wyatt coheads the firm’s litigation, competition and labor group. Dubbed one of only four Food & Beverage MVPs for his “work unraveling a price-inflation scheme by one of the largest food distributors” in the United States and for adding a “plaintiff-side wrinkle to his normally defense-oriented practice” by leading an antitrust suit on behalf of supermarkets. Wyatt, also based in Washington, has served as strategic and lead counsel to both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation involving antitrust, securities, state tax issues, RICO, labor, employment and First Amendment disputes and investigations.
