Washington — February 4, 2010 — Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce Andrew J. Turner has been promoted to Counsel status, effective January 28. As a member of the firm's environmental practice, Turner concentrates on issues relating to wetlands, marine and inland waterways, natural resources, waterfront and offshore facilities and structures, and vessel issues arising under the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Environment Policy Act. His clients include water and energy providers, vessel owners and operators, port interests, state and local agencies, builders and developers, and trade associations.

Prior to joining Hunton & Williams, Turner served in the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Maritime & International Law as Senior Counsel for Oceans and Environmental Affairs and subsequently as the Chief of the Coast Guard Office of General Law. Turner also served in the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration Office of General Counsel, focusing on Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act regulation and litigation, and in the U.S. Air Force as a Judge Advocate, where he continues to serve in the Reserves.

Turner earned an undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University, his J.D. from West Virginia University, and an LL.M. degree from The George Washington University.
