NEW YORK — April 28, 2011 — Hunton & Williams LLP is proud to announce that the Charlotte office has been honored by the Mecklenburg County Bar with the "2011 Large Firm Pro Bono Award," and partner Robert J. Hahn has been honored with its "2011 Legal Services of Southern Piedmont Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award."

The Mecklenburg County Bar's "Large Firm Pro Bono Award" recognizes the efforts of Mecklenburg County lawyers working in a large firm who made a significant commitment towards pro bono work. During the fiscal year of 2011, the Charlotte office of Hunton & Williams dedicated 2,892 hours to pro bono service. This represents more than five percent of the office's billable work dedicated to pro bono efforts, surpassing the goal of three percent set by the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge. Hahn, chair of the Charlotte pro bono committee, was recognized for his contributed pro bono contributions.

Hunton & Williams continues to lead the way in community service in the United States. In addition to the Pro Bono Institute's John H. Pickering Award, Hunton & Williams received a National Law Journal 2011 Pro Bono Award for advocating with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for Haiti immigration relief, a Beacon of Justice Award by The National Legal Aid & Defender Association in honor of our extraordinary commitment to immigration pro bono legal representation, and received the 2010 Chief Justice's Law Firm Commendation Award from the Florida Supreme Court in recognition of service to local communities.
