Hunton Andrews Kurth Represents the Underwriters in Southwestern Public Service Company’s Offering of Green Bonds

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised the underwriters on an SEC-registered offering by Southwestern Public Service Company (the “Company”) of $200 million aggregate principal amount of its 5.15% First Mortgage Bonds, Series No. 9 due 2052. An amount equal to the net proceeds of the offering will be used to finance and/or refinance, in whole or in part, existing and future expenditures made during the period from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2022, and allocated in the development, construction and operation of, as well as transmission infrastructure to support, its wind energy projects (including the Sagamore wind farm).

The Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc., is a utility engaged primarily in the generation, purchase, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity in portions of Texas and New Mexico. The Company provides electric utility service to approximately 0.4 million customers in Texas and New Mexico.
