Hunton Andrews Kurth Represents IDB Invest in $70 Million Subordinated Loan to Banco Agrícola, S.A.

On June 3, 2022, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IDB Invest”), in its own capacity, and in its limited capacity as agent acting on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank, as administrator of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative, closed on a $70 million unsecured subordinated loan to Banco Agrícola, S.A. (“Banco Agrícola”), a Salvadoran financial institution. The proceeds of the subordinated loan will be used by Banco Agrícola to support its supplementary capital structure and for the origination of sub-loans to small and medium sized enterprises in El Salvador, with an emphasis on Salvadoran women-owned/led small and medium sized enterprises.

The U.S. based firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IDB Invest as international counsel. Salvadoran legal advice to IDB Invest was provided by BLP.
