Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP attorneys, Barry R. Davidson and Andrea DeField, have been selected as honorees of the Daily Business Review’s annual Professional Excellence Awards which recognize distinguished members of South Florida’s legal community.

Barry R. Davidson, special counsel at the firm’s Miami office, is being recognized as a Distinguished Leader. Davidson has been practicing law since 1968 and his practice focuses primarily on civil litigation throughout Florida, with an emphasis on complex and class action business litigation, intellectual property, antitrust and products litigation. He has tried more than 75 jury and non-jury cases before state and federal courts and has tried cases in 28 counties in Florida. Throughout his distinguished career as a litigator, Davidson has represented and won cases for giants such as Burger King in its ad wars against McDonald’s, the estate of Pablo Picasso, Florida Power & Light statewide, and more than a dozen major U.S. airlines.

Andrea DeField, an associate in the Miami office since 2015, is being honored as an attorney On the Rise. As part of the firm’s Insurance practice group, DeField finds risk management, risk transfer, and insurance recovery solutions for public and private companies. She represents policyholders in a variety of insurance coverage disputes including those arising out of COVID-19, construction defect and wrongful death suits, hurricanes, data breaches, ransomware attacks, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory investigations and actions, class actions, and shareholder derivative suits. A knowledgeable and respected practitioner in her field, DeField is also a prolific author and lecturer on insurance and risk management topics and has presented at CLE seminars around the country.
