On October 31, 2019, Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IDB Invest”), acting on behalf of itself, as agent on behalf of Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”) and as agent on behalf of IDB in its capacity as administrator of the China Co-Financing Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean, and International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), acting on behalf of itself and as Implementing Entity under its Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program, closed on a US$800 million secured A/B loan facility to Klabin S.A. (“Klabin”). Both IDB Invest and IFC syndicated a portion of the loan facility among different participants.

The U.S. based firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IDB Invest and IFC as international counsel. Local legal advice was provided by Dias Carneiro Advogados. The U.S. based firm of Clifford Chance LLP advised Klabin as international counsel while local legal advice to Klabin was provided by Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr. e Quiroga Advogados.
