Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that associate Mayme Beth F. Donohue has been named to the National LGBT Bar Association’s 40 Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 for 2018.

Based in Richmond, Mayme counsels clients on securities law matters, capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance issues. She is also a member of the firm’s blockchain working group and co-authored the article, “Securities on Blockchain,” published in The Business Lawyer.

Active in the community, Mayme serves as the president-elect of the Virginia Equality Bar Association (VEBA) and also serves on the board of the VEBA Education Foundation. She is also on the junior board of Side by Side, an organization dedicated to supporting Virginia’s LGBTQ+ youth. Additionally, Mayme is on the pro bono committee for the firm’s Richmond office and is the chair of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society Pro Bono Hotline. The firm also selected her to participate in the Pathfinder Program sponsored by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

Mayme received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.

The award recognizes LGBT legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated strong commitment to LGBT equality. Those eligible for the award include practicing lawyers, law professors, corporate counsel, members of the judiciary and elected officials. The 2018 honorees will be recognized in August at the 30th Annual Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair.
