Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP acted as counsel to the remarketing agent for the remarketing of (i) $54.375 million aggregate principal amount of West Virginia Economic Development Authority Solid Waste Disposal Facilities Revenue Bonds (Appalachian Power Company – Amos Project), Series 2009A and (ii) $50 million aggregate principal amount of West Virginia Economic Development Authority Solid Waste Disposal Facilities Revenue Bonds (Appalachian Power Company – Amos Project), Series 2009B.

Appalachian Power Company (APCo) is a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company (AEP) and is part of AEP’s vertically integrated utilities segment. APCo is organized in Virginia and is engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power to approximately 966,000 retail customers in the southwestern portion of Virginia and southern West Virginia, and in supplying and marketing electric power at wholesale to other electric utility companies, municipalities and other market participants. APCo owns 6,681 MWs of generating capacity. APCo uses its generation to serve its retail and other customers.
