Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that the firm’s Bangkok-based energy and infrastructure team was recognized by The Asset Triple A Asia Infrastructure Awards in the 2022 Renewable Energy Deal of the Year - Thailand. The 2022 Asset Triple A Infrastructure Awards honor the institutions and the deals in Asia that made a difference during the 2021 calendar year.

The firm’s energy and infrastructure attorneys were selected for their representation of Asian Development Bank, KASIKORNBANK and responsibility Investments AG as lenders counsel for the limited recourse project financing to Green Yellow Solar 1 (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The transaction finances the development and construction of 92 solar photovoltaic systems, including 89 rooftops, two ground-mount and one floating on the premises of commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers located throughout Thailand. These projects are estimated to generate a combined capacity of 60.3MW. Green Yellow Solar 1 (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is owned by GreenYellow, an international energy management company headquartered in Paris that specializes in renewable energy transitions for businesses.

Hunton Andrews Kurth assisted the client through the lifecycle of the project, from inception to the signing of the transaction, including legal due diligence and identifying key risks of the projects. The Hunton Andrews Kurth deal team was led by partner Chumbhot Plangtrakul with support from associates Sudarat Sattayakawee, Jitranut Narkmai and Thaphanut Vimolkej along with junior lawyer Chinapat Chokwitayarat and additional assistance from the firm’s EIT team in the London office including partner Ferdinand Calice and counsel Rob Askew.
