Hunton Andrews Kurth advised Golden Nugget LLC, an affiliate of Landry’s, LLC, in connection with a joint venture casino project with Wilmot Gaming Illinois, LLC, a privately held subsidiary of Wilmorite, a family-owned and operated commercial real estate development and management company. The joint venture, Danville Development LLC, plans to build, subject to regulatory approvals, a new Golden Nugget-branded casino in Danville, Illinois, that will also include a Landry’s steakhouse restaurant. This is Golden Nugget’s first joint venture on a casino project.

Additionally, Golden Nugget Online Gaming, Inc. (GNOG), Tilman Fertitta’s online gaming company, entered into an agreement with Danville Development for exclusive market access in Illinois for online sports wagering and iGaming, once legalized. That market access agreement will run for a 20-year term. Under the agreement, GNOG will also provide a $30 million mezzanine loan to Danville Development for the development and construction of the casino.

Hunton Andrews Kurth has previously represented Golden Nugget and Landry’s in connection with the acquisition of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, the acquisition of the Trump Marina Hotel and Casino (now Golden Nugget) in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the acquisition of the Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino (now Golden Nugget) in Biloxi, Mississippi, the acquisition of the Golden Nugget Lake Charles Casino and Resort and the construction, development and financing of the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort in Galveston, Texas.
