Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP congratulates Los Angeles partner and Labor and Employment practice group co-chair Emily Burkhardt Vicente for being named a “Finalist” in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Leaders in Law” awards. The award recognizes legal leaders and their accomplishments within their organizations and communities.

Vicente is an accomplished trial lawyer who defends employers in complex employment and wage-hour matters. Ann Marie Mortimer, managing partner of the Los Angeles office and co-head of the firm’s commercial litigation practice, was also recognized as an award nominee. Mortimer advises clients in high stakes litigation, acting as lead counsel in cases involving exceptional complexity and multiple jurisdictions.

Named a finalist in the Labor & Employment category, Vicente was recognized at a virtual event on Nov. 17 and will be profiled in a special award supplement on Nov. 29. She was recently honored as a “Champion of Women” nominee at the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2021 Women’s Leadership Awards, nominated for the “Diversity & Inclusion Award” by the Los Angeles Business Journal, recognized as a “Visionary” in the inaugural Business of Law Magazine in the Los Angeles Times, named among the 2020 “Women Worth Watching” by Profiles in Diversity Journal and listed as one of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2021 “Women of Influence.” She has also been recognized in The Legal 500 United States 2020-2021 Labor and Employment Disputes (Including Collective Actions): Defense and as a California Labor & Employment Star by Benchmark Litigation from 2019 to 2021.
