Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partner Fawaz Bham has been selected by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) as the recipient of the 2022 Young Lawyer Pro Bono Service Award. This award highlights one lawyer of 36 years or younger who “has provided outstanding contributions and access to justice to those in need of legal services.”

An experienced real estate and capital finance partner in Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Dallas office, Bham is committed to helping clients and others beyond the firm. He has personally organized and led multiple pro bono efforts, including launching, developing and sustaining the virtual clinic platform for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and the Dallas Bar Association. This program was quickly created as a result of the pandemic shuttering in-person clinics in the Dallas area, and it continues to provide weekly virtual clinics, which have manifested in thousands of applications being processed and dramatically increasing access to justice for underserved segments of the population. Named the 2021 Lawyer of the Year – the highest award that can be bestowed by the Dallas Bar Association, Legal Aid of Northwest Texas and DVAP to an attorney – and one of the 20 Most Inspiring Leaders of 2020 by the Dallas Business Journal, Bham is also an active proponent for advancing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the legal profession by devoting substantial time and producing actionable programs both inside and outside of the firm.

The award was presented at the DAYL Wine Tasting event on June 23, 2022. While Bham was not able to attend, partner Dan Garner accepted the award on his behalf.
