Attorneys from Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a $250 million distribution and sales center being built by firm client Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC in Tampa, Florida.

On June 16, 2022, partner Mark Arnold and associate Christopher Richardson were on site for the first phase of development of 156 acres of land the firm helped Coke Florida acquire in 2019. Hunton Andrews Kurth assisted Coke Florida navigate a range of state and federal regulatory, environmental and other legal matters related to the purchase of the real estate and is advising the client with respect to the financing of the project. The firm also continues to represent Coke Florida in other real estate and financing matters, with assistance from associates Jason Antrican and Rebecca Lee.

The 800,000-square-foot facility is designed to centralize Coke Florida’s current Tampa operations, which includes more than 800 employees, and will feature automated order fulfillment, sales and distribution operations, as well as fleet and storage capacity.

The completed project is expected to occupy approximately 25% of the acreage, which Coke Florida intends to further build out in the future. Site preparation for the construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in third quarter of 2022 and is expected to be completed in 24 to 36 months.
