Hunton Andrews Kurth (Thailand) Limited represented Impact Electrons Siam Company Limited (IES), an innovative energy company, which together with its affiliated companies, is developing more than 600 MW of renewable energy projects in Thailand, Lao PDR and Japan, in joint venture arrangements with a group of new investors from the Saha Group, a Thai conglomerate, to raise additional equity capital for Impact Solar Company Limited (ISL). The new investors are Saha Pathana Inter Holding Public Company Limited, the real estate development arm of the Saha Group, Sahacogen (Chonburi) Public Company Limited (SPI), the operator of the Saha Group’s electricity and steam projects in Thailand, and I.D.F. Company Limited.

The financial strengths and strategic opportunities presented by the new shareholders from the Saha Group will accelerate the expansion of ISL’s portfolio of off-grid private-to-private rooftop solar projects in Thailand.

Hunton Andrews Kurth advised IES on structuring, preparing and negotiating the shareholders’ agreement underpinning the joint venture arrangements. The firm’s Bangkok team was led by energy and infrastructure partner Chumbhot Plangtrakul working alongside associates Peerasanti Somritutai and Jitranut Narkmai and lawyer assistants Thaphanut Vimolkej and Chavisa Jinanarong.
