Business Insurance Names Jorge Aviles Among 2022 Break Out Award Winners - South

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP associate Jorge Aviles was recognized as a 2022 Break Out Award Winner – South by Business Insurance. The magazine’s Break Out Awards honors 40 top professionals each year who are “on track to be the next leaders in the risk management and property/casualty insurance field.” Business Insurance reviewed hundreds of nominees from across the country, all of whom have worked in commercial insurance or related sectors for under 15 years. Out of those hundreds, Aviles was selected as one of the 40 honorees for 2022.

Aviles is an experienced coverage attorney who has helped clients secure millions in insurance coverage for claims involving diverse losses. His practice centers on complex insurance recovery disputes on behalf of corporate policyholders in litigation and alternative dispute resolution, although he also counsels clients on risk management and insurance recovery strategy. Aviles is an accomplished author and lecturer on insurance coverage and risk management, and has written on cutting-edge issues on insurance for supply-chain disruptions, event cancellation, mass-casualty events and drone-related losses among others. In addition, Aviles is dedicated to cultivating talent in the insurance and legal industry through his service as a member of the Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council of the DC Bar Foundation, a board member of the Pipeline to Practice Foundation, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director for the ABA’s Business Law Section’s D&O Liability Committee and by mentoring young attorneys as part of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and LGBTQ Affinity Group.
