(Washington, DC)—On June 2, 2014, the Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”) closed on a US$16.5 million senior loan facility to Banco Improsa S.A., in Costa Rica.

The proceeds of the loan will be used for the purpose of supporting the expansion of Banco Improsa’s small- and medium-sized enterprise loan portfolio in Costa Rica.

The U.S. based firm of Andrews Kurth LLP, and the Costa Rican firm of Pacheco Coto advised IDB on the financing.
