On November 4, 2016, Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”), acting through its agent, Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IIC”), closed on a US$50 million unsecured A/B loan facility to Banco Cooperativo Sicredi S.A. (“Sicredi”). Sicredi has an option to request that the loan facility be in Dollars or in the local currency equivalent.

The proceeds of the loan will be used by Sicredi to finance certain rural activities, including low carbon agriculture, through certain cooperatives that indirectly own shares in Sicredi.

The U.S. based firm of Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP advised IDB as international counsel. Local Brazilian legal advice was provided by Dias Carneiro Advogados.
