(Houston, Texas)—Andrews Kurth is pleased to announce that Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits attorney Tony Eppert has joined the firm’s Houston office as a partner.

Mr. Eppert advises corporate clients – both publicly and privately held – on compensation and benefits issues, including related tax, accounting, securities and corporate governance matters. He also represents executives in hiring and salary negotiations. He joins Andrews Kurth from the Houston office of Winstead PC, where he had worked as a partner since 2008.

“Tony brings a wealth of experience helping guide clients through the increasingly complex world of executive compensation and employee benefits,” says Bob Jewell, Managing Partner of Andrews Kurth. “His addition adds depth to our tax practice and demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional service in this important practice area.”

Before entering private practice, Mr. Eppert served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Richard F. Suhrheinrich of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He earned his Master of Laws degree in taxation from New York University School of Law in 1999 after completing his law degree, cum laude, at Michigan State University College of Law in 1998. He earned his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1993. While in law school, he served as editor-in-chief and co-founder of the Journal of Medicine and Law and president of the Tax and Estate Planning Society.

“I’m looking forward to growing my practice at Andrews Kurth, which has a worldwide presence and some of the best tax and securities lawyers in the country,” Mr. Eppert says. “The firm also provides my clients access to an exceptional team of attorneys in a wide range of other practice areas.”

Mr. Eppert is a member of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, The ESOP Association, National Institute of Pension Administrators, and the National Center for Employee Ownership.
