Hunton Andrews Kurth is pleased to announce that Amber Rogers has been selected by Texas Lawyer as a 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Champion honoree. The award recognizes lawyers who have either “overcome insurmountable odds to achieve success or… had an outsize influence on inclusivity initiatives.”

Rogers is the hiring partner of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Dallas office, co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Oneness Luncheon series and the first African American woman on the firm’s executive committee.

She is a skilled attorney, assisting clients with labor relations and litigation, employment advice and counseling, and complex employment litigation. Rogers is a powerful influence in her community as part of the inaugural class of the Dallas Bar Association’s WE LEAD program, which encourages high-performing women in the legal profession. Texas Lawyer specifically recognized her work as a co-founder of the NEW (Network of Empowered Women) Roundtable, a nonprofit committed to empowering Black women lawyers and advocating the hiring, retention and promotion of female lawyers of color. The NEW Roundtable also proved instrumental in bringing the Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program to Dallas, which paired law firms with in-house legal departments to provide summer clerkships for women of color.

Recently, Rogers has been recognized in the Dallas Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards, Profiles in Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers Under 40.

The Texas Lawyer Diversity & Inclusion Champions were recognized in a virtual awards event on September 17, 2020. The full list of recognized individuals can be found here.
