The Associated Press reports that Amanda Wait believes if the AT&T-DirecTV merger is approved by government regulators, it could create a strong competitor to Comcast-Time Warner Cable. “Antitrust regulators might be thinking about Comcast-Time Warner Cable becoming a Goliath with lots of small Davids,” Wait said. “What the AT&T deal does – if it gets approved – is create another strong competitor that looks more like a Goliath than a David. It levels the playing field a little bit.” A former Federal Trade Commission lawyer, Wait represents clients before the FTC and DOJ in antitrust investigations and antitrust litigation.
