Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce the continuing expansion of its nationally recognized real estate capital markets practice with the additions of Counsel Sam Kardon in New York, Associate Elizabeth White in Richmond and Senior Attorney Daniel Martinez in Miami.

Sam is an experienced capital markets attorney with a particular emphasis on the real estate industry and REITs. He advises on underwritten public offerings, as well as a wide range of other public and private securities offerings, including PIPEs, private fund offerings, non-listed REIT offerings and “at the market” programs. He also advises issuers in connection with ongoing SEC reporting obligations and corporate governance matters, as well as mergers and acquisitions and similar transactions. Sam received his AB from Dartmouth College and his JD from Harvard Law School. He joins the firm from Proskauer Rose LLP.

Elizabeth assists clients in public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, other corporate and compliance matters, with a particular concentration on REITs and real estate related companies. Elizabeth receive her BA from Rhodes College and her JD from the University of Chicago Law School. Prior to joining Hunton, she was an associate at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in Chicago. She is licensed to practice in Illinois.

Daniel focuses on a broad range of federal income tax issues including those related to REITs, capital markets and cross-border transactions, private and public mergers and acquisitions, private and public investments funds, financial restructuring, joint ventures, and tax controversies. Daniel received his BS and his MBA from the University of Louisville, his JD from the University of Michigan Law School and his LLM from New York University School of Law. He joins the firm from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP.
